Hopefully this time around the game will have the time and financial support it needs to have its full potential realized.
It would have been easy to dismiss the original entry as a failure and move on, but it’s clear they see the promise in the idea. A must-play for any fan of the franchise.I think it’s pretty forward thinking of Microsoft to take something like Halo Wars and give it another shot. It adds more depth to the Halo series and fills in some gaps in its history at the same time. An amazing narrative that can easily stand up to the best of the Halo games. Halo Wars 2 is one of the most addictive, challenging, and interesting real-time strategy games out there.
And it should since they are both developed by the same company. It's also clear how the game resembles the Total War series developed by The Creative Assembly. The characters are well-developed, and each mission has rich amounts of content to it, texts to expand the world and different ways to face them. Halo Wars 2 even introduces a new interesting villain called Atriox. Adding depth to the story and context to the whole conflict. In fact, it is actually one of the best narratives we've seen in any Halo game. The plot needs not to envy that of any numbered entry in the series. Not only is it full of action for a real-time strategy game, but it's also well written. A very un-Halo Halo?Įven though the game style is completely different from most Halo games, Halo Wars 2 maintains many of the elements that make any Halo game great. New alliances, new enemies and even new mysteries to solve appear in Halo Wars 2. The mystery grows as we learn that these installments have been attacked by a dissident faction of the Covenant.
